Hello lovelies!
Hope you’re all well!
After doing a poll on instagram a lot of you said you’d like a post about why I started blogging and how I got into it all! So I thought I’d do a little post about it, with any little tips I can include along the way!
I’ve always loved fashion and been interested in styling. I love having the escapism of writing and being able to share my thoughts on my own little platform, that to me kinda feels like my own little world or scrap book. When I started working at Topshop about 3 years ago, I was surrounded by girls who had a huge love for fashion including my incredible best friend and stylish Pia Gloria. Being surrounded by that support and inspiration naturally just pushed me towards creating my own space to write down and share my styles.
I started by creating my page, I searched different themes using Pip.dig who were really helpful when creating my blog layout and helping me set it up. I created my page with WordPress and create a domain with Siteground allowing me to have loveindiamoon.co.uk!
After that, I started slow. I posted little bits here and there and really just enjoyed writing ALOT. I say a lot because I honestly would rant on and on! I think after about 6 months I hit a wall… I started comparing. Everyone does it once in a while, but mine was becoming unhealthy. I started comparing and feeling really down about myself, which was no ones fault but my own. So I decided to stop to focus some time on me and feeling a bit more happy and healthy in my body. I unfollowed people who I was obsessing over, who were showing a dreamy lifestyle (which is wonderful and I have no problem with at all) but at the time it was just making me compare myself and my life too. Which was just were I was at in that moment. After a few months of focusing on myself, positivity and my health. Realising that it’s okay to have days of comparison but also its important to love parts of myself and my flaws. It really helped me feel a little more confident in just doing me. Doing something that makes me happy and creating an Instagram platform and blog space that reflects me and my own personal journey.
That’s why I love blogging, I love styling outfits, i love photography, I love working with brands and I especially love all the incredible and supportive influencers I’ve met along the way so far. It honestly is such a hard working, beautiful community and being part of it is super exciting.
I’m ranting on of course, so I’ll try keep it quick… I then decided to start back up and again take it slow but post more of me within my captions, photos and styling! Rather than thinking about how many followers or likes or if I’m posting the right kind of brands… I’ve just been enjoying the process!! I enjoy just being able to express myself.
If you ever want to start blogging, YouTube or just Instagram blogging then do it!!!! Don’t think about what others may think, just make sure your happy, your expressing yourself and focusing on you.
Try not to get caught up in comparing, as we are all on our own journeys and should all support one another along the way!

Thought I’d included some colourful shots taken by the beautiful Allison Stoddard- Instagram here.
Love, India Moon.
I love posts like this where people open up and brain dump in a sense, it’s open up so many doors for so many of us and it’s so wonderful to see what people create. I agree with how you said you were worried you didn’t post the right things for brands and I actually wrote a post a little similar to that that’s due up this week hopefully! I think it’s such a good place for us all to just create and enjoy doing what we do for our blogs. Your work really does inspire me to try hard and reach similar goals to you one day (sorry if this was a bit blabbery) xx
