Cornwall Recommendations- top places to go!

Hello my lovelies,

So thought I’d do a little blog post filled with my love for Cornwall for any of you planning trips there this year or in the near future!

I’ve got family in Cornwall so grown up in the Mousehole/Penzance area as my second home for my whole life. It is one my favourite places in the world! There are so many beautiful hidden coves, amazing beaches, countryside walks and so so much to explore!!

Cornwall has so much to cover so I thought I’d split this post into sections, starting with sharing the areas I’m familiar with and have spent a lot of time exploring over the years and then a section on some other places I’d recommend! Honestly could write blog post after blog post about the individual places as there is so much to see so will start where I can and I hope it helps In some small way!

MOUSEHOLE- Penzance

Mousehole is a gorgeous little fishing village just outside of Penzance, my family home is walking distanced from here so I adore being here. Its lovely place to go for a walk see the harbour, go to the Deli cafe for coffee or dinner, visit 2ForeStreet for dinner, get local ice cream! Visit The Rockpool cafe for the best tea and scones and explore this little village!

This area and penzance is also near some incredible walks and beaches, so I’ve written some of my absolute faves below!

My favourite beaches near Mousehole (all driving distance- it’s defiantly ideal to have a car to explore Cornwall) –

Porthcurno beach- beautiful beach to spend the day! Can walk up from the beach to The Minack Theatre too and book a show from the amazing open air theatre with gorgeous views from the cliffs!

Treen Beach- There are two ways to visit this incredible beach, either directly from the top of Treen (Pedn Vounder Beach) down the cliffside onto this amazing spot or up from Porthcurno along the cliff side if you fancy more of a hike! Treen is more of a tricky beach to get down to and best to go to when low tide as at high tide most of the beach is covered. There are no steps and a vertical downward path so wear good trainers and be ready for the walk down! But once you are there the beach is breathtaking!

Sennen Beach- one of my favourite beaches, with the whitest sand and blue water! This spot is my favourite place to surf! And if you are looking for surfing lessons with an amazing company I highly recommend Smart Surf school! – https://www.smartsurfschool.com ! There are also some amazing Airbnb round this area with Aspect holidays or Airbnb with some lovely spots/walks nearby!

Lands end: Sennen is also close to Lands End- The end of the Land! A great place to visit to see the amazing views and a lovely spot at sunset on a nice day!

To do in Penzance:

The Jubilee pool- an amazing outdoor lido, with a cute cafe for a fun day of swimming! The water is now heated up by the earths core in part of the pool and is a fun spot to visit if you love swimming! (I believe with covid you now have to book in advance to visit)

Trengwainton gardens- Lovely gardens to visit and wander around!

Book a trip to the Scilly Isle- From Penzance you can get a helicopter or boat to the beautiful Isle of Scilly, you can go for a day trip or even book stays on the Island too! Filled with lots of beautiful scenery, usually lots of seals and lovely wildlife! It really is a must if you manage to find a place to stay and have the time to visit!

St Michaels Mount- Is a tidal island in Mount’s bay! When the tide is out you are able to walk over to the mount and explore the ancient castle aswell as pop to the island cafe! On shore in Mount’s bay you can see St Michaels Mount out to sea! One of my favourite spots to go is the Goldophin restaurant with views looking out to St Michaels Mount and lovely food!
